ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM                                                                       7.l


Any adult education program which will contribute to the education of all citizens of Millis, regardless of age, must be submitted to tile School Committee for approval. The Adult Education Program will be self sustaining and all tuition fees must be approved by the School Committee.

 

REGULATIONS

Any course for which an adequate number of students is registered or for which a well-qualified teacher is not available will not be offered.

 

The year's work will be divided into two 10 week terms.

 

Registration is open to all who are sixteen years of age or over.

 

Whenever classes are filled to capacity, waiting lists are available and persons so listed are notified of class vacancies.

 

When and if the Millis Public Schools are cancelled or dismissed due to anticipated severe weather, the cancelling of classes will be announced on radio station WKOX Framingham and WBZ Boston.

 

Refunds will be granted only when a class is filled or cancelled. Due to the cost of processing, refunds cannot be granted in cases of withdrawals, failure to attend class, or inability to attend class. The student assumes the risk of all changes in business and personal affairs.

 

Courses meet once a week for 10 weeks unless otherwise stated.

 

Senior citizens are encouraged to attend. Fee for them is one-half.

 

Preference will be given to Millis residents.

 

Changes in the rate of registration or tuition fee shall be recommended to the School Committee for approval when they become necessary to sustain the program.

 

In the Driver Education Course, students who do not give a twenty-four hour cancellation notice to the instructor shall be charged for the lesson and will be required to make payment in advance to the next scheduled appointment.
