Millis High School Receives National and Local Recognition

Millis High School recently earned both national and local recognition for outstanding student performance.  Millis High School ranked 1,665 out of 17,945 schools analyzed in US News and World Report’s 2026 rankings of top high schools in America (top 10%).  MHS ranked 76 out of 408 high schools in Massachusetts (top 20%).  Ranking criteria included performance on state assessments (MCAS), performance of high needs students on state assessments, graduation rates, college readiness (performance on AP exams by grade 12 students), and college curriculum breadth (participation of grade 12 students in AP courses).

Boston MagazineLocally, Millis High School received recognition in Boston Magazine’s annual Best High Schools in Greater Boston rankings. Millis finished 26 out of 148 schools ranked by the magazine  Once again, Millis High made the list of top 10 schools in "Bang For Your Housing Dollar." 

Boston Magazine rankings were based on MCAS and AP scores, AP participation, class size, student to teacher ratio, participation in arts courses, participation in digital literacy and/or computer science, and graduation rate.  In the rankings for “Bang For Your Housing Dollar,” Millis was among the top 10 Greater Boston high schools whose “school rankings most significantly surpassed their respective median home price.”

These recognitions not only acknowledge the great work of our high school students and staff but also reflect the tremendous work of Millis Middle School and Clyde Brown Elementary School in preparing students to have the skill and confidence to achieve and challenge themselves academically.
