Have A Great Summer!
Published on Jun 17, 2021 14:06

Dear Millis Families,

As our 2020-2021 school year ends I would like to thank you for supporting your students throughout this challenging year.  In remote and hybrid learning, families were required to take on roles and responsibilities that normally are handled by the schools.  Creating a comfortable learning environment, overseeing a class schedule, and ensuring students had all necessary materials became part of the daily routine in many homes.  I’d also like to thank the teachers and support staff of the Millis Public Schools for all of their efforts to deliver effective and engaging curriculum that enabled students to progress towards goals.  Additionally, the office staff, food services, transportation, and custodial personnel were extraordinary in their efforts to provide essential services throughout all modes of learning.  The resiliency of the entire Millis community was tested and we have made it to the finish line.

The easing and/or lifting of restrictions in the past few weeks gives us hope for a more normal return to school in the fall.  For 2021-2022 all DESE health and safety mandates (physical distancing, mask wearing, etc.) have been removed!  All learning will be fully in person, five days a week.  We will update families as additional school information from the DESE and other federal, state, and local agencies is released over the summer.

I hope all of our families enjoy a restful and relaxing summer.  It is certainly well-deserved following the school year we just had.

Best wishes,

Bob Mullaney, Superintendent
