Millis Public Schools invites you to attend our Middle School Principal candidate forum Thursday, May 13th from 6-7:30pm.  This will be a virtual event conducted via YouTube (link below).  Each candidate is scheduled for a half hour block of time.  In that time, they will share information about themselves and what interests them about becoming the Middle School Principal in Millis.  In addition, we are asking you, the Millis community, to submit questions in advance.  The candidates will address the questions provided.  If you have a specific question or topic you would like the candidates to address, please fill out this form  Questions for MS Principal Candidates  prior to the forum.  All questions/topics submitted prior to the event will be addressed, time permitting. 

Below is a brief bio of each of the candidates (listed in order of appearance on Thursday): 

6-6:30pm

Christopher Glynn, Vice Principal of Kennedy Middle School, Natick Public Schools

Mr. Glynn began his teaching career in Somerville MA as a High School Social Studies teacher.  For the last 2 of his 15 years there, he was the Assistant Principal of the Arthur D. Healey Pre-K to 8 School in Somerville. At that point he moved to Natick MA to become the Vice Principal of the Kennedy Middle School where he has been for the last year.  During his career he has prioritized his time around teacher coaching, behavioral interventions, programmatic curriculum changes, equity and cultural proficiency, drop-out prevention, supporting academic and social-emotional needs via leadership over Student Support Teams, and collaborating with community partners via site councils to foster inclusion and participation.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Vermont, a Master’s in Teaching from Boston University, as well as postgraduate Mentoring work at UMass Dartmouth, and an Advanced Graduate Studies certificate in School Leadership from American International College.



6:30-7pm

Nicolette Foundas, Assistant Principal of Encore Programming at W.L. Chenery Middle School, Belmont Public Schools

Ms. Foundas joined W.L. Chenery Middle School in Belmont, MA as a 5th grade teacher in 2008, becoming the 5th Grade Lead Teacher 2 years later.  In 2018 she became the Assistant Principal of Encore Programming at W.L. Chenery Middle School where she was responsible for professional development, school-wide scheduling, hiring, substitute coverage, observations and evaluations, standardized testing, grade transition meetings, steering committees, procedures, improvement plan and updates to handbook.  From May - July 2020 she also acted as interim principal for the Chenery Middle School and supported the transition of the new principal.  An Assumption College graduate with a degree in English, she also holds Master’s degrees in Education from University of New Haven, and Organizational Management from Endicott College.

7-7:30pm

Timothy McLaughlin, Elementary School Principal, West Bridgewater Public Schools

Mr. McLaughlin became the elementary school Principal in the West Bridgewater Public Schools in July 2018.  Prior to that he was a Middle School principal in Falmouth, MA for 3 years, an Assistant Principal at a Middleborough Middle School for 3 years, and the Dean of Students at the Irving Middle School, Boston Public Schools.  He also served in Afghanistan as a Staff Sergeant for the United States Army.  During his time as principal he has reshaped school culture, developed curriculum and rolled out the state teacher evaluation system.  His efforts have resulted in impressive MCAS SGP numbers, revised master schedule to include intervention blocks and daily Science and Social Studies, and a new Special Education model to better support “C Grid” services within the school setting.  He holds a History degree from UMass Lowell, a Master’s in History from Salem State College as well as postgraduate certification from Endicott College and University of New England in Educational and School Leadership.
