In-person learning update
Published on Mar 31, 2021 18:23

Dear Clyde F Brown Families,

It has been very uplifting to see our grade one and two students back in school for these last couple of days.  As we approach the return of all Clyde Brown students to full in-person learning  on April 5, we want to remind families of policies regarding student absences once full in-person learning five days a week begins.

Fully in-person students whose absences are not the result of quarantine by the school nurse or Millis Board of Health will follow the procedures that existed pre-COVID.  In other words, if a student is absent, s/he will be responsible for make up work missed during the absence.  These students will not be zooming into their class.  Families are still urged to keep their students home from school with any illness or symptoms to help mitigate any spread of COVID-19 or other illness. Parents should not be “self quarantining” their students in preparation for vacations, trips, or other non-essential reasons.

With April vacation on the horizon, we want to remind families of the Governor’s travel advisory that urges travelers to quarantine for 10 days following out of state travel unless receiving a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours prior to their return to Massachusetts.

With the return of students to our schools, we want to redouble our efforts to make sure we fully adhere to safety protocols to keep students and staff safe.  We have waited a long time to get our students back to fully in-person learning and want our schools to remain open.  We know that keeping our schools open is a community effort, and we appreciate all that our students and families have done and sacrificed to get us to this point.  The longer days and warmer temperatures of spring give us hope.

If you have any questions regarding the full return to school or safety protocols, please contact the Clyde Brown School office or school nurse.

Sincerely,

Bob Mullaney

Superintendent
