Dear Millis families,

With the holidays right around the corner we implore all of the members of our Millis community, our Small School, Big Family, to not travel to high-risk areas and to adhere to the recommendation that indoor gatherings be limited to a maximum of 10 people and only those with whom you have regular contact.

Anyone traveling to a “high-risk” state must submit an online travel form with the state.  Unless traveling to a low-risk state (current list as of November 4), individuals entering Massachusetts must quarantine for 14 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test. Specific requirements are set out in the Massachusetts Travel Advisory. We recommend, whenever possible, to obtain a PCR test rather than an antigen test if you are taking a Covid- 19 test. The PCR test is the most reliable and is recommended by our school physician and local Department of Public Health.

We advise you, for the increased safety of our school community, to obtain the test upon arrival back in Massachusetts.

Here is the webpage for the travel form that people must fill out if you are traveling back to Massachusetts from a high-risk state:  https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order#massachusetts-travel-form-

For complete details go to: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order

To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and keep our schools open for in-person learning, we are asking families to seriously consider the impact of travel and extended family gatherings this holiday season. Let’s lower the infection rate in Millis! We appreciate your assistance with  educating our students in the best way possible! Thank you!

 With gratitude,

Nancy Gustafson
