I apologize for the problems with the schedule attachment for the last two emails.  Below is the information that was supposed to be contained in the attachment.

Millis High School Schedule 2020-2021

Millis High School will begin the 2020-2021 school year with all students learning remotely from home.  This remote learning will differ from the remote learning done in the spring of 2020 in several ways.  Most importantly, students will have a class schedule with live check-ins and work during each scheduled class period.  Students will check in at the beginning of each class for attendance.  Students will have four periods per day and the school day will run from 8:00-2:20 (see schedule below).  Students not present in their remote classes will be marked absent and parents will be notified of the absence.  If a student is unable to attend sessions for the day, a parent must notify the school prior to 8:00 AM.  If a student is unable to attend a specific session due to illness or doctor’s appointment, etc., the school should be notified as soon as possible before the class period begins.  After attendance is taken in each class, the lesson plan for the day will be introduced by the teacher.  This could include a live whole-group component, students working collaboratively in remote “breakout rooms,” students signing off to complete individual tasks offline, or any other number of activities designed to deliver the day’s learning.  Students will then be required to check in at the end of the period for wrap up and next steps.  Unlike the spring, students will be graded this year on remote learning.  Teachers’ syllabi at the beginning of the year will communicate grading policies for each class.

The schedule allows for equal meeting time for each class.  Because some staff teach in both the high school and middle school, only periods 6 and 7 can meet in the afternoon.  The schedule also provides time for some club meetings, advisory meetings, and class meetings.  Some clubs will also schedule meeting time after school.  This schedule will likely continue as we transition from remote into hybrid and full in-person instruction.
