2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR BUS TRANSPORTATION

Deadline is 4:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Bus registration for the 2020-2021 school year is now open. Please do not send in paper registration forms from previous years, as this is not a valid way to register. Millis Public Schools will be utilizing two online Google forms to process registrations similar to the previous school year; one for students attending the Clyde Brown School, and one for students attending the Middle-High School.  This is based on what we THINK the rules will be for this fall. Should there be changes, we will notify the school community via Listserve.

The state requires school districts to provide transportation to and from school only for those students in grades K-6 who live more than 2.0 miles from school. Transportation is not mandated for any students in grades 7-12. Millis will be using the state requirements for 2020-2021 and the fees will remain unchanged for the upcoming year. Due to the limited space available on buses, the number of bus passes will be extremely limited. As ridership on buses will be severely restricted due to COVID-19 restrictions, students who may in the past have been able to ride the bus may not be able to this year due to mandated limited seating requirements. For those students who are not eligible for free transportation, Millis provides a Fee Based Busing Program. The fees charged cover only a portion (less than 30%)  of the actual cost of busing with the school district and town providing additional funds.

To register your child(ren) for the bus, go to our Millis Public Schools District Website at www.millisps.org. Select Information. Then select Transportation.

DO NOT send in your payment until you receive a letter from the Transportation Director stating that your child has a seat on the bus and the amount you owe to Millis Public Schools. Letters will be mailed shortly after the July 31st deadline. Amount owed and payment options will be included.

If you do not receive a letter by August 8th, you do not have a reserved spot on the bus and you will be placed on our wait-list. The google form is date stamped after registration is complete and therefore will be the means to create an accurate wait-list. For further questions, please contact the Transportation Coordinator, Sandra LaBarge  at 508-906-3632.
