2020-21 Scheduling for Current Grades 9-11

We hope you and your families are doing well and staying healthy during what we know has been a difficult time for everyone.  We can't wait to catch up with our students in person when we are finally back at school together.  Though we would much rather be at school having our scheduling conversations in person, it is time to start talking about scheduling for the 2020-21 school year.
1. The School Counselors have created videos for each class explaining the course scheduling process, outlining what the students need to know about picking classes for next year.  Please watch the video(s) so you understand the expectations and process for each class.  Links to the videos can be found here:
Class of 2021 (Current 11th Grade): https://youtu.be/-X5TOROqEw4
Class of 2022 (Current 10th Grade): https://youtu.be/YKkH2VI9EoU
Class of 2023 (Current 9th Grade):  https://youtu.be/Zw_XVBbd0m4
2. In addition to the videos, you will want to look over the 2020-21 Program of Studies for course descriptions, notes on prerequisites, and all sorts of important information.  Here is a link to the Program of Studies:  http://hs.millisps.org/common/pages/DisplayFile.aspx?itemId=42022669.  As a note, not all classes in the Program of Studies will run next year - the classes students can choose from in the PowerSchool system are the ones with a chance to run next year.
3. Students will be selecting courses in the course registration area of PowerSchool.  The PowerSchool system is open today for students to log in, see their teacher recommendations and start selecting classes.  Each teacher makes course recommendations after a great deal of time and consideration with the best interests of the students at heart.  Students should reach out to their teachers first, through email, if they have any questions about their recommendations.  If you or they have any further questions about the scheduling process or want to talk over course selections, you or they can reach out to the counselors through email as well (Riley Dunn - [email protected] / Mark Awdycki - [email protected]).
4. Students need to have course requests in the system by the end of the day on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8.  The course selection system will be shutdown for outside access after this date.
5. The School Counselors will be reviewing all the course requests individually and will be reaching out with any questions we have on selections.
Stay well and good luck picking classes for next year!
Regards,

Mark Awdycki and Riley Dunn
