New Clyde Brown Principal!!

Dear Clyde Brown Families,

I hope you all are well and figuring out how to navigate these difficult times! Due to the whirlwind of the COVID-19 situation, the process for hiring the new Elementary Principal for Clyde Brown had been delayed a bit. Throughout the extensive process the interview team and administrators believed we were fortunate to have two very strong candidates and that either one could become a fabulous leader for our school. Today I am very excited to announce that Tanna Jango will be joining us next year as the Principal of the Clyde Brown Elementary School!

As many of you know, Ms. Jango has been an Assistant Principal, 504 Coordinator and ELL Coordinator for four years in Mansfield at the Robinson Elementary School, PK-2. She has taught Kindergarten through Gr. 6, and has been a Special Education teacher and Team Chair. She earned a CAGS degree in 2013 from American International College, a Master of Education from Simmons College in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University.

In a broad and deep reference check process we could not find one single person who spoke in other than glowing terms about Ms. Jango and her work ethic, visibility, ability to support and collaborate with teachers,  staff and families, and her leadership skills and style. Her personality shines through in individual conversation and her current staff rave about her! The comments we received indicated that Ms. Jango is a very hard working, caring, collaborative and knowledgeable administrator who has built trust with both staff and families and they have come to rely on and respect her. In fact, all of the attributes that were identified as important for the next leader of the Clyde Brown School were strongly in evidence for Ms. Jango.

I’d like to thank Joan Lynn for heading up the Principal search, which was well organized and inclusive. I also appreciate the time and energy our staff and families put into our extensive process to make sure the next Principal of Clyde Brown will lead our school well. I know you will all welcome her wholeheartedly! She is currently busy supporting her staff with moving to remote learning as well but would like to visit again and communicate with you this spring.

My best,

Nancy Gustafson
