MS 3/15/20 update

Dear Middle School families,
I hope this finds you well.
Last Friday, the Millis Public Schools announced that buildings would be closed this coming week. You likely already know that earlier tonight Governor Baker ordered schools in MA closed for the next three weeks.
The Millis Public Schools administrative team will be meeting tomorrow to plan the weeks ahead, and we will be communicating additional information with families as soon as possible. This continues to be a rapidly changing situation in response to COVID-19, and we need to adjust accordingly. Tomorrow we will be addressing the many questions that are likely on your minds.
We are being reminded that this is not a vacation for our school community. It is important that we truly practice social distancing to do our part in helping to slow the spread of this virus. We know the extended school closing causes hardship for some and will work to minimize the impact where possible. If you or a neighbor need assistance, please reach out to us.
The health and wellbeing of families and the continued education of our children are our priorities. As a district and school, we will be working to find ways to provide students with educational opportunities during the coming three week period. We have already advised Middle School students to check their school email and Google Classroom or itsLearning accounts if possible for messages from their teachers. We know that may not possible for everyone and will be working to find a way to reach all students.

Historically, the Millis community has been strong and worked together to support one another through challenges. We will do the best we can to support you and your children and we will keep in touch.
