Mass General-Harvard University Project ARCHES information

Good afternoon,
Millis High School is partnering with Massachusetts General Hospital and
Harvard University in a study as part of their "Project ARCHES:
Adolescent Research on Cognition, Health, and Emotions in School." The
attached letter describes the study and Millis High School's role. In
the first phase, Millis High students would take a brief anonymous
survey on teenage marijuana use. Students do not have to take the
survey if they do not wish to, and parents who do not wish to have their
student take the survey may withhold consent by sending an email to the
address noted in the letter. The second phase of the study is
voluntary for students who would like to be involved. With parental
consent, students would meet with project staff at Millis High School
(no classes would be missed) and take part in questionnaires and
interviews. More information on this is included in the attached
letter. Although this research project is not being conducted by Millis
High School or the Millis Public Schools, we believe that the data
collected and the interaction with project staff will benefit our entire
school and community as we look to find out causes for teenage
marijuana use. For much more detailed information, please see the
attached letter from project supervisor Randi M. Schuster, Ph.D.
