Published on Sep 16, 2019 16:02

Dear parents/guardians of students in grades Pre-K through 7,

We have been asked to provide the names and addresses of Millis students to a Charter School.  Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Ch.71, section 89 (603 CMR1.06 (4) (g) public schools can be asked to provide names and addresses of students residing in their town to a third party contracted by a regional charter school (in this case Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter).

If you do not wish for your child’s name and address to be sent to the third party that has been contracted, please let us know by contacting Jody Cleary at [email protected] or by phone at 508-376-7000 not later than 10/04/19.

Sincerely,

Nancy L. Gustafson

Dear Middle and High School Parents/guardians,

Over the next few weeks I will begin state mandated screening for grades 6th - 10th. The screening will be held throughout the month of September-October and will start with the 6th/7th grade. The 6th, 8th and 9th grade will have postural screenings only. The 7th grade will have vision, hearing, height, weight and postural screening. The 10th grade will have vision, hearing, height and weight done. All of the students will be screened individually. I ask that all girls wear a tank top or sports bra the day they are due to be screened. This type of clothing allows more accurate observation of the back.

The purpose of the postural (scoliosis) screening is to find early signs of possible spinal problems/scoliosis in children grades 5th-9th. If I have any concerns I will notify you. If your child has already been screened by your doctor and you wish to opt out of this or any other screening, please email me directly. If you have any questions, please contact me at 508 376-7009.

Reminder-

If your child has an EpiPen for an allergy and you have not already done so please send in the EpiPen and order for the EpiPen from their provider. Even if they carry their EpiPen on them during the school day I still need an order kept in my office.

Thanks,

Lynn Molinari RN
