The goal of MPRI is to ask the town to vote on November 4 on a ban of single use plastic bags at checkout in Millis. Educating ourselves and others about the detrimental affect that plastics have on our health and environment is essential.

Keeping and attracting like minded people is also essential. To that end, these are some events and projects that we’ve planned.

Starting in June the library a display of “Alternatives to Plastic’ will be on view. This display is opposite the bulletin board at the parking lot entrance of the building. It’s our plan to show a ‘use this instead of this’ approach of items we use in our daily lives. The display case will be divided into categories such as shopping bags, kitchen and H&BA. Maybe there’ll be a small section for explanation of zero waste home. Look for it when you visit our library .

June 5-  is (World Environment Day)  ‘One Plastic Free Day’.  sponsored by Plastic Pollution Coalition

" We will be joining partners across the globe in celebration of One Plastic Free Day. We hope that starting with just one plastic-free day millions might be inspired to strive for a plastic-free, week, month, year and hopefully a lifetime. Will you join us?” Try it.

June 14- Tangerini Farm hosts End of School concert. MPRI will have a table with information and you’ll have a chance to briefly talk to us about this initiative.     Visit us and hope for good weather.

TBD July - family movie night at the library. The movie will be related to the care for our environment. Date is being arranged with library.
