New Half-Time Assistant Principal at CFB

Dear Families of the CFB School Community,
Earlier this school year, the Millis Public Schools’ School Committee approved funding for a half-time assistant principal at the Clyde F. Brown Elementary School. The position was posted internally and on School Spring, eliciting many interested applicants.
Under direction of Superintendent Nancy Gustafson, an interview committee was formed that included CFB teachers and administrators, and parent representation was solicited through the CFB HSA; this committee was led by the Millis Public Schools’ Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Joan Lynn. Initial paper screening of interested applicants yielded 12 applicants; from the applicants, six licensed candidates were considered, resulting in three highly qualified applicants who were selected to interview. Upon completion of the interviews, the unanimous candidate of choice was sent forward to the Superintendent. I am pleased to announce that Ms. Elise Molloy has been appointed as the new half-time Assistant Principal at CFB!
Currently, Ms. Molloy serves as our School Counselor. Prior to her hire in Millis, Elise worked for 15 years in the Natick Public School district as School Counselor and Assistant to the Principal, almost exclusively at the elementary level. Elise holds a B.A. from Providence College and a M.S.W. from Boston College, as well as MA licensure as Principal/Assistant Principal (preK-6). In addition to her experience as a Social Worker, Elise has had much experience in supporting the principals with whom she has worked in a variety of administrative roles, and demonstrates particular strength in working closely with students, families and teachers in both academic and social/emotional areas, as well as in supporting conflict resolution and proactively focusing on school community growth through social competence and cultural awareness.
Though Ms. Molloy will assume the Assistant Principal role in a half-time capacity, she will also remain in her role as School Counselor in a half-time capacity as well; counseling services at CFB will not be reduced. Ms. Molloy will begin this new role on Monday, November 27.
