PAYMENT FOR LOST AND DAMAGED BOOKS                                 5.6


 

Payment for text books lost or damaged so that they must be replaced:

 

Book   (first year)                   Cost of book to the nearest dollar

Book   (second year)              75% cost of book to the nearest dollar

Book   (third year)                  50% cost of book to the nearest dollar

Book   (fourth year)               25% cost of book to the nearest dollar

Book   (minimum)                  25% cost of book to the nearest dollar

 

Payment for minor damage - 25 cents to 75 cents

 

Payment for loss or serious damage to library book - replacement cost of book.

 

If a book is lost, payment for the book must be made. A book may be loaned to a student who thinks he knows the whereabouts of the book, however, the student shall then be responsible for the return of two books.

 

Payments for minor damage must be made before student is issued his/her report card at the close of school.

 

If a student refuses to pay for damaged or lost books, no books shall be issued to the student for the ensuing year.

 

If a student refuses to pay for damaged or lost books in his senior year of high school, he shall be denied the opportunity to participate in the graduation exercises.
