CFB First Day Drop-Off and Pick-Up Information

STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP: A FIRST DAY PRIMER
DROP-OFF (AM)
BUS STUDENTS
All buses arrive in the front of CFB and hold students momentarily on the bus until 8:25. Designated staff are stationed in front of the school to assist children in getting to the correct spot to enter the building:
- Kindergarten – form lines in front of the school at the front doors
- Grade 1 – form a line outside Door 17
- Grade 2 – form a line outside Door 18, adjacent to the Library
- Grades 3 and 4 – form lines outside Door 19 – Grade 3 on the right hand side, and Grade 4 on the left hand side
RIDERS
Vehicles enter the Spring Street lot (access Spring Street across from the Police Station on Rt 109). Upon entering the Spring Street lot, follow the perimeter of the lot around to the canopied Drop Off area, where the Crossing Guard will assist as students exit vehicles. Students exiting vehicles line up as follows:
- Kindergarten – parents should park in the lot and walk with students to the front of the building where students will join the classroom lines formed at the front door; TO KEEP TRAFFIC MOVING SMOOTHLY, PLEASE PARK IN SPACES AWAY FROM THE CANOPIED DROP OFF AREA
- Grades 1 and 2 – form lines outside Door 12 – Grade 1 on the right hand side and Grade 2 on the left hand side, next to the classroom windows
- Grades 3 and 4 – form lines outside Door 11 – Grade 3 on the right hand side and Grade 4 on the left hand side
- Students may begin to line up at 8:20am; doors will open to admit students at 8:25am
- Doors close at 8:30am; students arriving at or after 8:30am should walk around to the front of the building and enter through the front doors where they will check in at the office
PICK-UP (PM)
RIDERS
Dismissal for Riders begins at 2:45pm; students exit the building as follows:
- Kindergarten – all K students exit through Door 10, adjacent to the Gym; teachers supervise K dismissal and will release students to parents. PLEASE LET YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER KNOW IF AN ADULT OTHER THAN A PARENT WILL PICK UP YOUR CHILD – this adult will be expected to produce a picture ID in order for your child to be released into adult custody
- Grades 1 and 2 – exit through Doors 13 and 12, walk down the sidewalk and gather at the canopied Drop-Off area
- Grades 3 and 4 – exit through Door 11
- WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO FOLLOW THE TRAFFIC PATTERN IN THE LOT AND PICK UP CHILDREN AT THE CANOPY WHERE SCHOOL STAFF AND CROSSING GUARD CAN ASSIST WITH STUDENT ENTRY INTO VEHICLES
- Parents who choose to park and meet their children at dismissal should use the following protocol:
- Park in the Spring Street lot, away from the boarding area at the canopy.PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PREK LOT – these spaces are designated ONLY for PreK pick up/dismissal
- Arrange for a designated “meeting spot” where you and your child will connect – please wait on the sidewalk area along the perimeter of the Courtyard
- IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE… Please contact the school office; we will radio a message to the staff on duty
