This Saturday is Millis Beautification Day, an annual town event designed to spruce up public-owned spots and make Millis clean and shiny for Spring.  Volunteers will register on the Town Hall front lawn at 8:30 in the morning and at 9:00 they will go all over town picking up trash, raking and doing whatever is necessary to beautify Millis. Please come and help if you can.

CLOTHES 'CUZ WE CARE!

Millis Middle School’s Project 351 Ambassador Joseph Scolponeti has partnered with the school’s 8th grade Leadership Team and Student Council to organize the P351 Spring Service clothing drive. Scolponeti and Student Council President, Tessa Giardi, kicked off the Clothes ‘Cuz We Care drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons. Scolponeti and Giardi delivered two presentations to the students to generate enthusiasm for the drive. In describing Cradles to Crayons, Scolponetti said, “This organization is amazing! Their mission is inspiring, and it’s easy to donate and help out kids who aren’t as lucky as us.”

Project 351 unites 8th graders across the state in community service. The Cradles to Crayons  organization operates in Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago to provide children in poverty with basic needs. Millis Middle School, in support of Project 351 and Cradles to Crayons will be collecting new and nearly new items of clothing from March 24 through April 7. Scolponeti and Giardi have set up a friendly competition between students in grade five through eight to win a period of recess. Giardi feels "Clothes 'Cuz We Care" is a great project “because it helps kids just like us who are in need, and shows that we can make a difference. The competition aspect of the project encourages all Millis Middle School students to help, and shows that community service can be fun and just as rewarding for those who give!”
