Host Families still needed for Dutch Exchange
Published on Aug 21, 2018 11:05

Good morning,

We are still in need of five or six families to host a Dutch student for a week from September 21-September 27.  Exchange students come from Jac P. Thijsse College (high school) in Castricum, Netherlands.  They are English immersion students aged 15 or 16 who speak English well.  During the week, exchange students shadow their host students for a few days in school and go on field trips to Boston and other local attractions.  During the weekend and after school, exchange students spend time with their host families experiencing a "typical" American teenager's life.  There are also group activities during the week.  During April vacation, students who host a Dutch student will have the opportunity to travel to the Netherlands and live with their exchange student's family (this is not mandatory, but it is wonderful experience for those students who can go).  This is a great opportunity for our students to meet someone from another culture and share our culture.  Students and families who have participated in the past have formed strong bonds with their exchange students and made life-long friends.  Additional information can be found at:  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1LXV2DkkdG1EsQzE0Mil6EGpTkLBPo0zntoS3NQqaf9c/edit?usp=sharing

If you have any questions about the program or are interested in hosting, please contact me at [email protected] or by phone 508-376-7010 as soon as possible.

Thanks,
