Summer Construction Projects Outside the School Site

As construction continues at the new school building, several summer projects outside the new school site will also bedone to connect the new school to town infrastructure and to provide access when the school opens in the fall of 2019.These projects are scheduled for the summer to take advantage of the weather and because fewer students are inschool.

As an example, a sewer connection was made on Main Street and the affected sidewalk will be finished this week. Also, scheduled for this week, drainage work will be done at the corner of Monroe and Park Street, which will necessitate newtemporary access to the construction site. At the end of July, the traffic work project will involve making Park Road (theentrance to VMB and Clyde Brown School) into a 2-way street. A traffic light will be installed on Route 109, along with aleft turn lane for westbound traffic on Route 109. Included in that project is the reconfiguration of the parking lot at Veteran’s Memorial Building to move traffic away from the building for the safety of employees and the Senior Center. That project will be completed at the end of August.
