Free Dance Camp
Terpsichore will be hosting its' 8th Annual Dance Camp the week of August 21 - 25. There is no charge for the camp sessions. There are offerings for students in incoming grades 2 - 12 and participants will need a signed permission slip to attend. For those who dance at private studios daily sessions are a great way to jump back into your fall season and see if you might wish to join Terpsichore. For students in grades 2 & 3 there is a creative dance for the first time, for students in grades 4-6 there is a great Junior Dance Class. Finally for those interested in Nutcracker there are sessions for Clara, Arabian and HS solos. The schedule is as follows:
Daily Sessions; Monday 8/21 - Friday 8/25:
- 8:10 - 8:55 am: Ballet I Class: ballet barre with some floor work: Open to students in incoming grades 6-12 with basic understanding of basic ballet vocabulary
- 9:00 - 10:00 am: Dance Class - fusion of ballet, jazz, & modern. Open to students in incoming grades 5-12 of all dance ability
Specialty Sessions
- Monday 8/21: 10:05 AM - 10:35 AM - Spanish Workshop - open to all incoming grades 9-12: some previous dance experience suggested; 10:40 - 11:10 am Snow Princess Workshop - open to all incoming grades 9-12: some previous dance experience suggested
- Tuesday 8/22: 10:05 - 10:50: Creative Dance Class - open to all students incoming grades 2 and 3 no previous dance required, rsvp requested; 10:55 am - 11:25 am Sugar Fairy Workshop - open to all incoming grades 9-12: some previous dance experience suggested; RSVP requested
- Wednesday 8/23: 10:05 - 10:50 - Turn Clinic - open to all students in incoming grades 5-12, RSVP requested; 10:55 am - 11:25 am Arabian Workshop - open to students in incoming grades 7-12 - strongly recommend for students thinking of joining Arabian this year. RSVP requested
- Thursday 8/24: 10:05 - 10:50: Junior Dance Class a great introduction to Terpsichore regular fusion of ballet, jazz & modern- open to all students incoming grades 4-6 no previous dance required, RSVP requested; 10:55 am - 11:25 am Clara Workshop I - open to students incoming grade 5, previous dance and/or drama experience a plus but not required. Think of this session as a way to show your stuff and express interest in being Clara in this years production. RSVP requested
- Friday 8/25: 10:05 - 10:35 am - Clara Workshop II- open to students incoming grade 5, previous dance and/or drama experience a plus as well as attendance at Thursday Clara Workshop I, but not required. Think of this session as a way to show your stuff and express interest in being Clara in this years production. RSVP requested
