CFB January STEM Challenge - Problem Solving Opportunity!
Published on Dec 21, 2016 16:49

Dear CFB Families,

This year the work of the CFB School Council is focusing on developing strategies to improve student learning and thinking in ways that encourage all students to learn effectively.  With the revision of our Library space this year to include more opportunities for multimedia learning, the School Council is planning to develop a pilot Maker Space for the school!   One of the objectives of this year’s School Council work is to establish at-home monthly “STEM challenges” for CFB students in all grade levels that can keep children learning and thinking during holiday and vacation breaks.  Resources and information will be provided for families -  this is a GREAT opportunity to voluntarily engage kids in thinking and problem solving as they work alone, with siblings, or with friends to develop solutions to problems!

STEM Challenges will be offered voluntarily during January, February and March; the CFB School Council will be looking for feedback from STEM Challenge participants and will use this data to make decisions as we design out pilot Maker Space.

More information, along with links to resources and organizing materials, is found on the CFB website homepage at: http://cfb.millisps.org
