Fisher House Boston cared for Retired Marine sergeant John Peck and his fiancé as John recovered from his double arm transplant this past summer. John’s story was featured on CBS on October 5, 2016.
The Fisher House is a home away from home where our military families can stay while a loved one is receiving in house treatment at one of our medical centers. Any veteran or active military personnel, wartime or peacetime, is eligible to stay at the Fisher House. These homes are built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. The homes enable family members to be close to loved ones at the most stressful times. There is at least one Fisher House at every major military medical center to assist families in need and to ensure that they are provided with the comforts of home in a supportive environment. There is NO Charge for any family to stay at a Fisher House.
Fisher House Boston was the 46th Fisher House to be built in the country. They recognize not only the special sacrifices made by our men and women who serve in uniform, but also their loved ones. The Millis Lions and Leos are proud to assist The Fisher House. We hope to display 1000 Flags at the Town Hall commemorating our Veterans service. Please help support these men and women who have sacrificed so much by buying a flag in honor of, or in memory of, a loved one.
Fisher House is a Four Star Charity, with an A+ rating.
