CFB SCHOOL COMMUNITY NEWS AND EVENTS

MILLIS DESTINATION IMAGINATION

Millis Destination ImagiNation will be hosting an informational meeting for folks who are interested in learning more about DI on Wednesday October 4th from 7:00PM to 8:00PM at the Middle School/High School Cafeteria

Did you know that:

  • Millis DI is part of the world’s largest creative problem solving organization
  • Millis DI is a parent-volunteer driven extracurricular program that fosters creativity, team-based problem solving and life skills for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, run with the support of the Millis Public Schools.
  • The goal of Destination ImagiNation is to cultivate the creative problem solving process and make it a part of a student’s everyday life.

DI Teams work together to solve open-ended Challenges, using their imaginations and Creative Problem Solving Tools.  Teams of up to 7 students prepare and participate in both a Team Challenge and Instant Challenge at a regional competition in March.  The solution to the Team Challenge is developed over a 3-6 month period! The team designs and creates, without adult assistance, all props, costumes and other artistic and/or technical elements necessary to bring the presentation to life.

Additional information about DI can be found on the DI National website at www.destinationimagination.org as well as the Massachusetts affiliate website at www.madikids.org.

The ability for kids to participate in Millis DI is entirely driven by the volunteer efforts of people from the Millis community.  Please consider volunteering to be a DI Team Manager, which will guarantee a place for your student on your team! Massachusetts DI hosts training sessions, and Millis DI will provide you a seasoned Team Manager “Mentor” that will be a resource for you during the DI Season.

Thanks for your interest in Millis DI!
