Important Hybrid Re-entry information
Published on Oct 9, 2020 15:19

Since September 16, 2020, the Millis Public School district has been utilizing a fully remote model for instruction.  We are currently planning for a shift to a hybrid model as early as October 19.   In order to successfully plan for the transition, we need to know your choice for your children.  There are two choices – the hybrid model or the long-term remote model, both with Millis staff.

The Hybrid model will allow students to come back into our schools for two days per week in assigned cohorts.  Cohort A will come to school Monday and Tuesday.  Cohort B will come to school Thursday and Friday.   All students will be remote on Wednesday.  The Long Term Remote model will allow students to continue working from home. They may attend the remote days of both Cohort A and B or may have some asynchronous learning.  All five days will be remote for Long Term Remote students.

Please see the following “One Stop Shopping” document that we have created to bring much of the information we have disseminated and presented over the course of these past few weeks. It has much information on the safety protocols and procedures we have put in place to help ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

Due to scheduling, we are asking that whichever choice you make, that you commit to that choice for the semester/trimester. However, we will work with families to try to ensure that your child is successful and, if possible, may be able to make changes within a few weeks time.

Please see the sample videos and information below to help you understand our hybrid plan and how long term remote students might participate in the hybrid model.

If you have not already responded, you are asked to fill out one survey for your entire family, but the questions are set up so that you will need to answer the questions for each child separately.  If you have changed your mind, please fill out the survey again and contact the school office to make sure we have the correct information. When you have completed the questionnaire please be sure to go to the end of the document and hit SUBMIT. If you have questions, please call the office of your children's school(s) for best information.

Thank you for your patience and support as we endeavor to provide the best possible education for our students, grounded in strong relationships and personalization of learning. Please click on the link below to let us know your thoughts.

Warm regards,

Nancy Gustafson
