Message from School Committee
Published on Aug 7, 2020 13:28
Last
night the Millis School Committee voted to begin the 2020-2021 school
year in a remote setting. After listening to the plans presented it
became clear that due to changing requirements, some unknowns around
logistics and mounting health and safety concerns that starting school
in a remote setting was the best option at this time.
To restate
what was said last night, this decision was not based on lack of
planning by our teachers and administrative team. They have worked
tirelessly over the past months to ensure our children return to
learning in the safest way possible. We thank you for everything you
have done and continue to do to get to our ultimate goal which is
returning to in person learning.
This
decision was not easy, and we understand that there will be some that
are disappointed with this decision. Our priority is to keep everyone
safe and we feel this is the best choice at this time.
Thank you
Millis School Committee
