Millis High School status as of 3/15/20
Published on Mar 15, 2020 20:08

Good evening,
I hope you and your families are well.

This evening Governor Baker ordered all public schools in Massachusetts closed until April 7.  As previously communicated, there is no school in Millis tomorrow, March 16, 2020.  The Millis Public Schools administrative team will meet tomorrow to plan the weeks ahead and I will communicate information as soon and as often as I can.  As you know, things are happening rapidly with the response to COVID-19, so we will continue to be flexible.

As Governor Baker said this evening, it is important that we practice social distancing and that we do not treat this period as a three-week vacation with groups of students congregating at each other's homes, etc.  The goal of this shut down is to stem as best we can the rate of spread of this virus.  As a district and school, we will be working to provide students with educational opportunities during the three week period.  More on this will be forthcoming.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc.  Given the fluidity of the situation, I may not have answers immediately, but I will do my best to provide a helpful response.

This is an unprecedented situation for us all.  I am continually impressed by the strength of the Millis community and the way its members help each other out in all kinds of situations.  Now more than ever we need to be the small school-big family as we take on the challenges in the days ahead.
Sincerely,
Bob Mullaney

Principal
