Dear Middle School families,
As I reflect on the opening of school, the memory of students arriving eager and excited to be here, makes me smile. My conversations with students at the end of the day, which were positive and upbeat, made it feel like a very good beginning - in spite of the unsettling events that occurred.
Tuesday, September 8 will be C-DAY in the Middle School.
Students will begin the day at 8am in their "Period 3" class.
Students will go to UA-1 (the same Unified Arts class they attended on the first day of school)
We hope the Millis Community enjoys a peaceful Labor Day weekend!
We welcome students back to school on Wednesday, September 2!
Start time: 8:00am
Dismissal time: 2:20pm
If a child is going to be absent, please call the office at 508-376-7014 before 7:45am if possible.
If you need to come to the Middle School office to pick up a child or drop something off, please sign in at the High School office first before coming upstairs.
There is no school on Friday, September 4 or Monday, September 7.
We look forward to a wonderful start to the school year!
Comcast provides low-cost internet service for families who qualify. Please see attached or visit www.internetessentials.com
We have made some changes to our Middle School schedule, which we hope will benefit our students during the coming year.
1) Grades 5 & 6 will have Unified Arts classes during Period 7.
2) Grades 7 & 8 will have Unified Arts classes during Period 6.
3) We will continue to have a 7-day schedule with days A through G, however core academic classes will rotate around the Unified Arts periods. Students will begin with a different class each day and daily attendance will be taken in their first class.
We look forward to welcoming students back on the first day of school on Wednesday, September 2, 2015.

Attention incoming 9th graders. Millis High School's Freshman Orientation will be held on Friday August 21 from 10-11:30 AM at Millis High School. Incoming freshmen will meet in the auditorium, learn about the upcoming year, hear from Millis High School's student council, take a brief tour of the building, and have a pizza lunch provided in the school cafeteria. Attendance is not mandatory but we would like to see as many members of Millis High School's Class of 2019 as we can!
