PARTICIPATION IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES                  5.4.1

AND FEE BASED PROGRAMS

Participation by students in programs of extra-curricular activities including interscholastic athletics is a privilege and such participation shall be subject to the approval of the principal of the school.

At the High School level, pupil participation in inter-scholastic athletics is additionally subject to compliance with the eligibility standards of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.

Some programs, that would not otherwise exist, are funded through participation fees to allow parents a variety of opportunities for their children. These programs include, but are not limited to, the following: Extended Day Program, Integrated Pre-school Program, Full Day Kindergarten Program, Fee-Based Transportation Program, and the Athletic Program. In order for these programs to operate successfully, it is imperative that all fees be paid as required. Every reasonable effort shall be made to work with parents on a payment plan when necessary.

Failure to pay any outstanding balances by the close of the school year may result in the following actions:

            1. The student and/or his/her sibling(s) will be denied enrollment in the program     until such outstanding obligations, including applicable late fees, have been paid.

2.The student and/or his/her sibling(s) may be denied enrollment in any other fee-  based program until such outstanding obligations, including any applicable late            fees, have been paid.
